How lucky are we to live in prime viewing of today's total solar eclipse. We drove our scooters down to Washoe Lake for the viewing.

For safe viewing John removed the protective eye pieces from his welding masks. The camera really couldn't catch the dark moon in front of the sun.
When the moon was centered in front of the sun, we were surprised that it wasn't darker out. The lighting was very eerie and odd. It did get a lot cooler.
It was a very neat experience.
