It's been a while and now it's going to be a while longer

Bisque under wraps

Let me just say, 2016 was a very tough year and I'm glad it's over and done.   Even though the year had too many difficulties, none can compare with the loss of my darling Mother in May.

Last month we had a lot of water and mold damage happen in our home.  Which also affected my health and forced us to turn my pottery studio into a temporary home.  So again, pottery making time is minimal.    The blessing is that my 51 year old kitchen is getting a remodel.    I just wish insurance would have covered more of the cost.   We are having to come out of pocket big time.

My last glaze firing was in April 2016.   I've been making pottery, I just haven't been glazing.    I have probably 3 or 4 kiln loads of bisque.  All one of kind adorable pieces waiting for me to mask and detail glaze.

Not sure when I'll be able to get back to work in the studio. Praying that the kitchen repairs and remodel goes fast.

Sledding Day with Grandkiddos

I'm trying my best to move forward into 2017 with a positive spirit.   I pledge to look for the blessings in each day and face the challenges with faith.

Love to all and Happy New Year!

  5. Dearest Cindy I know that 2016 was difficult for you especially the loss of your Mom, friend, cheerleader and the rock of the family. I am sure the summer was bittersweet...Spending time with the grandkids on summer break brings you joy but having to go through your Mother's possessions at the same is heartbreaking. I did not know about your kitchen issues that must have been a nightmare! Plus insurance policies never quite work in your favor, I think that is the "norm" because I too had some water damage in my dining room and all I can say is that it was a stressful mess.I have missed "seeing" you on Etsy and FB.. I hope and pray that 2017 is a much better year.. Huge Hugs Kathleen <3

I'm working on detail glazing and should have a kiln firing early spring. Take care.
